On Sunday night about 100 people joined the Treacy Levine Center and Voices of the Children to celebrate the interfaith work of students in Skagit Valley. Led by Sarah Rutherford from the Treacy Levine Center, Aaron Wagner from Voices of the Children and many others in the valley, the students conceived of and created a mural project in Mount Vernon at 410 Myrtle Street (in the alley). Participants were given the chance to hear from one another about a time when they experienced compassion from someone they didn’t expect.
We ended the night along the Skagit River with a benediction from Kay Knott, an elder of the Skagit Tribes. It was a beautiful evening.
