I am so proud to see democracy in action at the with the Police Chiefs of the Eastside meeting with the Muslim community members on Thursday night. My friend Mohamad and the good folks in the Muslim Community Resource Center did a great job of bringing all these folks together. The Q&A handled some tough issues about the interplay of civil rights and property rights – but these tough issues are the work of all lovers of democracy. I met an FBI agent who works in civil rights – he asked that when civil rights are not respected to please call them. It was wonderful to be led by the female police chiefs: clear, strong and compassionate leaders. A good night to be an American citizen!
